Norbert Cyrus, Social Scientist, is senior researcher at Viadrina Center B/ORDERS IN MOTION in Frankfurt (Oder) and conducts research exploring the relevance and functions of state borders for migration control. Before, he was involved in the EU funded research project DemandAT (Demand-Side Measures Against Trafficking). He worked as consultant for ILO, European Parliament, German Expert Council on Immigration and the Berlin Alliance Against Trafficking in Human Beings for Labour Exploitation (BBGM). He is member of the Working Group on Trafficking for Labour Exploitation‘ hosted by the German Federal Ministry for Labour. His publications include: How To Design Evaluable Anti-Trafficking Campaigns: Six Basic Steps (2016); Learning from Demand-Side Campaigns Against Trafficking in Human Beings: Evaluation as Knowledge-generator and project improver, Demand Arguments in debates on trafficking in human beings – using an historical and economic approach to achieve conceptual clarification (2016); Demand reduction in anti-trafficking debates (2017) (with Dita Vogel); and The Concept of Demand in Relation to Trafficking in Human Beings: A Review of Debates since the Late 19th Century (2015).
