Katharine Bryant is a modern slavery expert with ten years’experience in counter trafficking and anti-slavery programming and research. Katharine currently works as Research Manager at the Walk Free Foundation and is one of the authors of the Global Slavery Index. She manages the qualitative research programme, including the government response component of the Global Slavery Index and an assessment of what does and doesn’t work to combat modern slavery. Previously, Katharine has worked and consulted for various international organisations, including the International Organization for Migration, UNICEF and Save the Children. Her roles have included researching, designing and implementing development programmes addressing irregular migration. Katharine started her career as a secondary school teacher in South London, and has qualifications in History, Education, and International Relations.
