FIRST STEP, the app that guides people arriving in Italy through local services | FAMI CIR Project
Navigating local services is one of the first, major steps for people arriving in Italy. With FIRST STEP, this process becomes simpler, clearer and more accessible.
FIRST STEP is the new multilingual app developed under the FAMI CIR – Cittadini in Rete Project, promoted by the Prefecture of Ascoli Piceno together with On the Road Cooperative and LELLA 2001 Cooperative. The project aims to make services for Third-Country Nationals more accessible, coordinated and effective.
What does FIRST STEP do?
Thanks to geolocation and an intuitive interface, the app allows you to:
-
Find nearby services: healthcare, employment, housing, schools, social services, immigration and much more;
-
Consult and download documents: guides, forms and essential information always available in PDF format;
-
Stay updated: news, alerts and useful communications to help you live and integrate better in the area.
The app is designed to be simple, useful and free, aimed at:
-
Foreign citizens
-
Refugees and asylum seekers
-
International students
-
Practitioners and volunteers working in the sector
FIRST STEP promotes greater autonomy for individuals, facilitates access to rights and streamlines the work of those who welcome and support people along their inclusion pathways.
The model developed through the FAMI CIR Project can be replicated in other prefectural contexts, contributing to a network of best practices for integration at the national level.
FIRST STEP is already available for smartphones.
