On the Road and the Construction School of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo Sign a Protocol for Guidance, Training and Socio-Occupational Inclusion
The memorandum of understanding between On the Road and the Ente Scuola Edile of the provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo has been formalized. The agreement establishes a strategic collaboration in the areas of guidance, vocational training, socio-occupational inclusion, the promotion of legality, and the fight against labor exploitation and the illegal intermediation of labor (known in Italy as “caporalato”).
The activities envisaged by the protocol are aimed in particular at victims or potential victims of labor exploitation, with the goal of creating personalized pathways that support people from initial intake through training, from the acquisition of technical and transversal skills to entry into the world of work. The construction sector, characterized by strong demand for skilled labor, is one of the main fields of intervention.
“Employability cannot be considered solely an individual responsibility. It is the result of a network that works. We need training institutions, social organizations, businesses and public bodies capable of collaborating and sharing goals and tools,” says Lara Carosi, Head of the Employment Services Area at On the Road. “In this sense, the protocol signed today takes on strategic value. It moves in exactly this direction: creating a stronger and more qualified network, in which each party contributes its skills and experience to build real opportunities.”
“The collaboration between On the Road and the training body of the Scuola Edile makes it possible to connect the experience the On the Road Cooperative has gained in supporting migrants with specific skills and training pathways, which can also respond to the concrete needs of the labor market,” states Stefania Torquati, President of the On the Road Cooperative. “For the Soleil project, it means strengthening one of the central elements of our work: building personalized pathways that accompany people from intake through training, from the acquisition of skills to job placement, paying particular attention to training in sectors where there is high demand for specialized labor, such as the construction sector.”
“This protocol confirms the central role of the Ente Scuola Edile in promoting a culture of safety and regular employment,” says Lanfranco Ceroni, President of the Ente Scuola Edile of the provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo. “We are making our facilities and expertise available to qualify the workforce and meet the needs of our companies.”
“The synergy between the social partners and the Third Sector is a strategic lever for ensuring genuine and protected socio-occupational integration on construction sites,” adds Spiro Prebibaj, Vice President of the Ente Scuola Edile of the provinces of Ascoli Piceno and Fermo. “Safety and compliance with contractual regulations remain the absolute priority for our sector.”
The agreement will last three years and provides for joint actions in guidance, vocational training, support for job placement, and the promotion of awareness-raising initiatives on legality and workers’ rights.
